Dr. Chau Yee (Charlene) Ng, MD Ph.D., is a consultant dermatologist, dermatologic surgeon, and assistant professor at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (CGMH) Linkou Taipei Branch, Taiwan. She is the director of the vitiligo clinic and pigment research center, incorporating a specialty clinic and research laboratory. She also currently directs the department of dermatology and aesthetic medicine in Jen-Ai Chang Gung Health Alliance.
Dr. Ng has published numerous articles on vitiligo and pigmentation disorders in SCI journals. Her research team has patented methods of treating vitiligo with a fully human monoclonal anti-IFN gamma antibody isolated from tuberculosis patients (US patent US63348380). She received the National Innovation Award twice for the invention of portable optical coherence tomography skin imaging. She uses basic, translational, and clinical research approaches to understand melanocyte cell biology in vitiligo and pigmentary disorders, focusing on developing new diagnostic tools and targeted treatments.
