Dr Woffles Wu is a craniofacial plastic surgeon who graduated in Singapore in 1984 and subsequently trained in Edinburgh and Melbourne. He completed Fellowships in Bangkok, Tokyo, Manila and Melbourne and was board-certified in Plastic Surgery by the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 1994 and served as a specialist in the Department of Plastic Surgery of Singapore General Hospital from 1989 to 2000. He was appointed as a consultant in 1995 and has been in private practice since 2000.
Dr Wu sits on numerous committees in several international professional bodies such as the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons ISAPS where he is an appointed Visiting Professor, the International Consortium of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons ICAPS and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons ASAPS.
Dr Wu has published many clinical papers and book chapters on plastic surgery techniques and is on the editorial board of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He has shared his experience in over 500 international conferences and symposia where he has been an invited keynote speaker, panelist or moderator.
In 1990, he won the Young Surgeon of the Year award for his research on nasal anatomy. He also pioneered the Stealth Incision Technique for scarless breast augmentation in 1996 as well as many techniques for the use of Botox (which includes Botox Facial Slimming, the Botox Browlift, Microbotox of the face and neck as well as the treatement of Keloid scars with Botox) and resorbable fillers in the face. He is a pioneer of Threadlifting and developed the WOFFLES THREAD (patented in over 18 countries) and the WOFFLES LIFT Non-surgical Facelifting procedure in 2002.
Dr Wu was featured as one of the 19 most famous plastic surgeons in the world in the 2005 book “Aesthetic Surgery” published by Taschen Books.
In 2021, Dr Wu was listed as one of the Top 5 World’s Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Wu is the Honorary Head of Department of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Zhejiang Peoples Hospital in Hangzhou, China and also practices in Shanghai.
Woffles is married with two children.
He is an acclaimed film maker, winning the 2007 San Sebastien Film Festival Best Screenplay Award and the 2007 Tokyo Film Festival Best Film Award for his film Singapore Dreaming (2006)
He recently published a book of his stories and philosophy, “Life in Plastic” which has become a national bestseller.
